LGBTQ Families Day 2024
The Landscape of Protections for LGBTQ+ Families
June marks the arrival of Pride Month as well as the yearly observance of LGBTQ Families Day. Today, we recognize the 19th annual celebration of LGBTQ+ families and their rich diversity of experiences — which include the voices of parents, children, and their supporters.
Over the past 50 years, the visibility of LGBTQ families has increased, as has the number of children with LGBTQ+ parents who are thriving and are part of communities across the country. In 2024, advocates are working to advance a number of key laws and policies that directly impact the lives of LGBTQ+ parents and their children.
To commemorate LGBTQ Families Day, we’re highlighting four policy areas that can help support and protect families everywhere. This infographic from the Movement Advancement Project details key laws and policy areas that can benefit LGBTQ+ families.
